Hangin' out with Wes over the years.
What'll he do next?
Hobbies have been his world. From scuba diving underwater to flying sky high and just about everything
in between. Model railroading (an upstairs room has over 25 scale miles of N scale track), photography,
computing, music, wine making, music, gourmet cooking, music, tropical fish (we operate a tropical fish
farm and are wholesale distributors in the gulf states area), music, and other hobbies lined up waiting to
be tried when he has the time. He is presently writing a book about his
"Amazon Adventure"
which is an account of his adventures while in the jungles of the Amazon rain forest in search of tropical fish
in the area where Brazil, Columbia and Peru come together.
Since we've been married he hasn't done any more of this type of travel alone.
He was ready to try sky-diving until someone told him that old people fall faster than young people.
Pictures from out of the past.
Enjoying a gourmet meal with son Bruce. Where is everybody else?

And a drink after dinner, of course. (He had hair, then. Phony, but it was hair.)

Wes playin' guitar at a jam session. You can hear what he sounds like at his
'Audio' page at his web site.
|
He had a tradition of taking out all (6) daughters on their 18th birthday for a night out on the town.
He and daughter Jane getting ready for dinner and night clubbing in the French Quarters.

Wes coming in for a landing at Slidell Airport in his Cessna Skyhawk.
Cessna 7902U came to an unfortunate end. Crashed on takeoff when a friend
of Wes' borrowed the plane and neglected to check the sumps for water condensation.
No one injured but the plane was totaled. Many fond memories of trips to the Bahamas
loaded with scuba gear, slurp guns, nets, and other stuff for "bringin' 'em back alive".
Tropical salt water fish, of course.
An old model trail layout. It filled a two car garage before it
was all over. |
This is a hand-made balsa wood curved bridge over George's Gorge.
|
This is a pic of the early stages of his present layout upstairs. It is a two
level layout with lots of trees, houses, factories, etc., on it now. It occupies almost the entire
room which is about 15' x 25'. The grandkids love it!
|
This is an old layout before trees were added to the mountainsides. My contribution to
this scene is the painted background of mountains on the wall. When one
of the girls at the office saw this picture she asked when we had gone on a train
trip out west. She was a blonde, of course.

And back to the present...
